Membership
Become a Member of PYFC
To be considered for membership into the Penn
Yann Flying club you must attend two regular
meetings before your application is voted upon
for membership.
Provisional Membership
To determine the desirability of continuing
flight training and becoming a member, aspiring
pilots may fly with a flight instructor for up
to 3 Tach hours in a club-owned plane by
applying for Provisional Membership. This class
of membership requires a $10 membership fee, an
endorsement by one voting member, $10 a month in
dues and limits the Provisional Member to no
other membership privileges.
Active Member Status / Supporting Member
Status
- A member may enroll in either Active or
Supporting status at any time.
- An initial fee of $600 is required for
Active Member Status ($100 for Supporting
Member Status).
- A monthly dues fee of $41 is assessed
for Active Member Status.($20 for Supporting
Member Status). (as of
4/27/2011)
- Voting status is achieved through
participation in Club activities.
- All Pilots are expected to adhere to FAA
regulations and the PYFC Flight Rules.
Active Member Responsibilities
The club is owned and managed by the
membership. Members are expected to participate
in the management of the Club by keeping their
account current and by participation in the
following activities:
- Maintaining a positive cash balance in
the member's account.
- Meeting Attendance. - Must attend two
meetings, work bees, or other events.
- Voicing opinions on Club issues.
(Monthly Meetings)
- Weekend Manager (Once or twice per year)
- Aircraft washing and cleaning as
required.
- Spring Work Bees (Usually once per year).
- 4th of July Breakfast work.
(Non-optional)
- Special Projects
- Committee Assignments
Voting Privileges and Elective Office
After participation in ten Board, Regular or
Special Safety Meetings, PYFC Fly-In Breakfasts,
or Work Bees in any combination (must provide
dates to the Recording Secretary, with 10 days
notice).
